N I N E

This past week, my hubby and I celebrated nine fabulous happy years of wedded bliss. We hit up our favorite park again and took in a spectacular view of the city from their “holiday” balloon (it looks like a hot air balloon, but totally missing all the hot air). It was super cold and super windy and would have been super romantic had it not been for the very vocal kid riding with us asking her dad about a hundred questions about the possibilities of falling off. Ah, children!! If we weren’t parents of a school-ager ourselves, that may have been annoying. Instead, the entire time, A and I were chuckling and thinking about what Nate would probably ask if he were riding with us!
And can I just say how glad I am we choose to do this BEFORE we ate? It was sooo windy. Wine, food and then a balloon ride would not have worked out so hot.

Happy Happy Anniversary, to my sweet and amazing hubby. I love you!

Has it really been almost two months?!
Okay, so I’m slightly behind on the blogging but this past holiday season was hectic! Fun, but definitely a little hectic. Now where was I?
Can you believe this was Houston last month?

Well, at least for one day. I snapped this on the way home from my daughter’s 4th birthday soiree. And by soiree, I really mean last minute play date.
What a birthday treat! I could hardly function that day. Snow is magical, people!!

Ladies and Gents, I have survived two whole months of no sleep, raging hormones, an endless amount of poopy diapers and non-stop crying (Adam’s and mine)! Hooray for newborns! No, seriously. He has been a dream and despite all that I listed above, there’s also cuddling, laughter, cooing, tears of joy and lots and lots of love all around. Now that he’s two months old his big brother and sis are able to play with a him a little more.

In case you missed it in the photo above, N Dizzle has lost yet another tooth!
My hubby actually had to pull that one out. Yeesh!
Is it just me or do your children seem to age like crazy once you get a newborn in the house? I feel like M is a totally different person now.

I don’t care how old she gets, she will always be my baby girl.
And speaking baby girls, I am about to become an auntie again! My sister is due any day now and we cannot wait to meet her baby girl.

Things from all over

So, um, yeah… Three is HARD. I knew that already, really. But I didn’t really know. More on that later.
First I wanted to share a few pics of my super cute baby sister. She is graduating from college this winter and asked me if I would snap a few pics to celebrate. What!?! An opportunity to go and do something without my kids? No crying? No diaper changes? No gentle reminders that the laundry basket is, “really full, mama. Like, bursting out full!”
How could I resist? We went and checked out a location that I have been eyeing for a while now and the weather was perfect, the light just right and my sis? Just lovely!

Lovin’ her ANTMish pose here.
Isn’t she gorgeous?

I was only out about an hour and I already missed the crying and constant requests for undivided attention. It’s been a bit harder than I thought adjusting to being needed by an infant while still meeting the needs of everyone else in this house, but my two older kids are soldiers! They have been so very patient with me and just adore their little brother. They literally cannot keep their hands off him.
I love the look on M’s face here. She’s happy to be laying with her brother but ticked that I told her to keep her hands off him. She is always squeezing his head when I’m not looking!
Her older brother is much gentler but also cannot keep his (1st grade, germy) hands off him either.
Personally, I think the guy is just thrilled to have another male in the house
I’d post more of the little guy but I have yet to send out our announcements. Until then, this will have to do
